FROM STATIC GEOMETRY TO A PARAMETRIC MODEL

Stop working with static geometry.
Start working parametrically.

A traditional digital pattern is geometry: points, lines and curves. FTT turns that geometry into a parametric pattern model, where measurements, POMs, seams, pieces and grading rules are connected through defined technical relationships.

Your geometry stays intact. FTT makes it parametric.

PARAMETRIC MEASUREMENTS POMs are anchored to geometry, so the model knows what is being measured and where.
PARAMETRIC RELATIONSHIPS Pieces, seams, measurements and grading rules are connected — not managed as isolated data.
PARAMETRIC CHANGE Change an approved measurement and the model can recalculate the affected geometry while preserving its technical relationships.

01 · IMPORT & UNDERSTAND

Any pattern. Ready to work.

Import the AAMA DXF and RUL your CAD already exports. FTT reads the pattern without rebuilding it and creates its own technical layer on top.

Your original geometry, layers, cut lines, stitch lines, grainlines and notches remain exactly where they are.

  • READS AAMA DXF & RUL Works with the open exchange standard used by the leading CAD systems.
  • NOTHING LOST Your original pattern structure, geometry and layers remain untouched.
  • ONE GARMENT MODEL Pattern, measurements, grading, fittings and technical documentation now belong to the same garment.

02 · AI-ASSISTED SETUP

Less setup. More pattern making.

FTT analyses every piece and proposes the technical relationships it recognises. It suggests seam pairings, locates POMs and identifies inconsistencies between related pieces.

The pattern maker reviews, adjusts or defines anything the engine cannot determine.

AI assists. The technician decides.

  • SEAM PAIRING FTT proposes which edges sew together and checks their geometric consistency.
  • POM PLACEMENT The engine suggests where each POM should be measured. Accept it, move it or define it yourself.
  • PIECE CONSISTENCY Related pieces and seams are checked before work continues.

03 · FROM FITTING TO PARAMETRIC PATTERN

Change the measurement. The pattern follows.

Once the pattern is parametrised, an approved measurement change can become a controlled geometry change. After a fitting, update the measurement table. FTT recalculates the affected geometry while preserving the technical relationships already defined in the parametric model.

Once the base size is correct, FTT uses the grading rules in the RUL to propagate the approved geometry changes across the complete size range, and compares the resulting graded pattern against the measurement tables.

  • FROM FITTING TO GEOMETRY Approved measurement changes can drive the corresponding pattern adjustment.
  • PROPAGATE THE CHANGE Apply the approved adjustment consistently across the complete size range.
  • TECHNICIAN APPROVAL Every proposed result remains under the pattern maker's control.
From fitting to pattern: fitting on the mannequin, measurement table updated after fitting (A1 54.0 → 55.0), original vs updated piece, graded sizes XS–XXL, technician approval with geometry updated, grading applied and measurements verified.

04 · GARMENT TYPES

Don't set up the same pattern twice.

Save your approved base patterns inside a Garment Type with their POMs, seams and technical relationships already defined.

When a new model starts from that Garment Type, the technical setup is already there — giving the pattern maker a controlled starting point instead of repeating the same work.

  • BASE PATTERNS READY Keep your proven blocks available for the team to reuse.
  • POMs ALREADY PLACED Measurement locations and definitions travel with the base pattern.
  • SEAMS ALREADY DEFINED Known construction relationships don't need to be recreated.

05 · MODEL AUDIT

Don't trust the table. Check the pattern.

FTT compares the measurements declared in the size table with the actual measurements found on the pattern geometry. If they don't match, the technician sees the difference immediately and can decide whether it falls within the approved tolerance or requires correction.

Model Audit performs a final engineering check across the complete garment model before it is released for production: size tables, POMs, grading rules, breaks, tolerances, pattern geometry and the complete graded size range.

  • MEASUREMENTS ↔ PATTERN Do declared measurements match the actual pattern geometry?
  • RULES ↔ GRADING Has every size followed the approved grading logic?
  • SEAMS ↔ PIECES Are related pieces and sewing edges geometrically consistent?

06 · EXPORT

Back to your CAD. Nothing broken.

FTT doesn't replace your CAD workflow. Export the modified and graded pattern back as AAMA DXF with the original structure intact and FTT's technical layer added.

Open it again in your native CAD environment and continue working with the tools your team already knows.

  • SAME EXCHANGE FORMAT AAMA DXF back into your existing CAD workflow.
  • YOUR LAYERS UNTOUCHED FTT adds information without overwriting the original structure.
  • FTT LAYER INCLUDED The parametric engineering information can travel with the pattern.
Export back to your CAD: FTT layer legend (POMs, seams, grainlines, notches, construction, relations), AAMA DXF file with the FTT layer added, the CAD's layer panel showing cut, stitch, grainline, notches, pattern and FTT layer.

Your CAD draws. FTT understands.

From static geometry to a parametric engineering model.
The pattern maker decides. The engine does the repetitive work.
